Body Shop

Body Shop is a collaborative zine by artists Kathy Guo, Yiyi Han, and Theresa-Xuan Bui, exploring the multifaceted concept of self-care. Each artist offers a personal interpretation of self-care practices. The zine intertwines personal narratives and creative expression, reflecting the diverse ways self-care manifests in individual lives.

In Level Up, Theresa-Xuan writes about masturbation as a pathway to understanding love, delving into how intimate self-awareness fosters deeper emotional connection. It explores self-exploration through a "leveling-up" approach, where the artist delves deeper into a radical love that rejects shame and embraces the freedom to experience and express desire in all its forms. The narrative moves between moments of self-affirmation, judgment, and acceptance, highlighting the power of individual choice in embracing one’s desires without fear. It celebrates the joy of connection, the beauty of shared experiences, and the infinite possibilities within love and intimacy. Ultimately, it calls for a world where love, in all its complexity and vulnerability, is honored and experienced without reservation.
