Let’s get dreaming together  

On Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Engagements


Much of my artistic career is grounded in collaborations. I dedicate a large portion of my time to movement, puppetry, performance, collaborations, and activations. I engage in multiple disciplines because they each bring value to my creative practice. I view this as a form of artistic sustainability– If our effort can give something to ourselves and/or others, then it is life-giving. This feeling arises in many forms.

  • If I can perform a director’s puppet to their ideal vision,
  • If my collaborator develops an exciting technique through our project,
  • If I can walk a classmate’s fashion line with conviction,
  • If an audience member better understands grief after reading my poem,

I hold these experiences equally significant as any individual pursuit. The magic of art is how it allows us to imagine and actively work towards radical futures. This begins with the relationships we build whether with materials or with others.
